If you want to look strong you need to be at the gym. If you want to BE STRONG, you need train at the Pit. For any existing member that refers a new member, you will receive a free t-shirt. We look forward to supporting you in all of your 2026 goals!
This will be our 4th and final team inducted into the Pit Hall of Fame for 2025. This is a reminder that we will be scheduling the celebration early next year as we will also be taking possession of an additional 4200sq-ft that is currently occupied.
The 2025 Team ended a 38 year long stretch where the Pit did not claim a Teenage National Team title. There were a few runner up finishes and a teenage National Deadlift Team Champion during the stretch but no top finish in a full power meet. There are numerous reasons for the drought but it is a testament as to how hard it is to assemble enough talent in a growing sport AND keep young people focused AND have the logistical, financial and family support to make something like this happen.
The 2025 Teenage Team went to New Orleans at the largest teenage meet that the Pit had ever participated in and came home champions. A lot had changed during our 38 year drought with the most notable change being the inclusion of female lifters on the teams. So for the first time in history, the Pit has a teenage National Champion Team with female lifters! The Pit also had two other occurances in this meet that had never happened. Josh Wilson and Lena Angel both won the Men and Women's best lifter awards for the T1 division. This award recognizes them for having the highest pound for pound lifts of anyone in their division, regardless of bodyweight.
We are very proud of the 1976, 1978, 1987 and 2025 Teenage National Champion Teams and look forward to their induction and celebration early next year. ... See MoreSee Less
Congratulations to Marty Doyle. Marty broke the Indiana state records across the board and took home the Best Lifter Award in the Master division at the USPA Hoosier State Championship.
Marty squatted 237lbs, benched 181lbs, and deadlifted 363lbs.
Marty had the following to say:
"Thanks Coach Conner, Coach Stagg and Spotter Larry Ulrich! Just goes to show, if you want to look strong, go to the gym. If you want to BE STRONG, come to "The Pit"!"
